Newsletter June 2008

The June meeting, for 2008, was held at our usual meeting place, Athens Diner, at 7 p.m., on June 9th.  We had 12 members present.

June Ride Calendar was distributed.  Departure time for our Sunday rides is 1:30.  Place of departure is the same old place with a new name.  The Conoco is now the Marathon.  It is listed as Valley Mart #12 in the phone book.

“Live to Ride and Ride to Eat”.  Be thinking of places you want to go and share your ideas with the Ride Committee. Jack Keith, Arce Salvador, and Dave McKale.  We will try to do a Dinner Ride in June.

Our Thoughts and Prayers went out to Ronnie Moore, in the lose of his brother.

We were also sorry to hear of Ronnie Moore’s motorcycle accident.  Thankfully, Ronnie’s injuries were minor.  The same cannot be said about his bike.

Dave and Donna McKale can add “Riding the Tail of the Dragon” to their list of accomplishments.

Speaking of accomplishments, Stephie Night successfully passed her motorcycle safety course and is now a licensed motorcyclist.

The overnight ride, for the 4th of July, was stopped short due to belt problems with Ed’s Trike.  After the group found a place to stay, they encountered “Near Starvation” with a world record “Longest” delivery time for pizza.

A motion was made to award the rider with the most logged miles, at the December meeting, to be awarded a gift certificate of $25.  It was seconded and passed.  Odometer readings will be verified by either Jack Keith or Donna McKale.

The issue of “Deaths in the Family” was addressed, to get the member’s view on when flowers will be sent and when a card will be sent.  It was voted that in the death of a member’s Spouse or significant other, child, or parent flowers would be sent.  It was also voted each member, excluding the subject member, would reimburse the club funds by paying $3 at the next club meeting.  In the loss of other family member’s, a card will be sent.
